This Privacy Policy explains how AMS Tradings International (Pvt) Ltd (“AMS Tradings”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit amstradings.lk (the “Website”), contact us, or use our vehicle import services. Who we are
AMS Tradings International (Pvt) Ltd is a personal vehicle import company based in Sri Lanka. We help customers import vehicles from Japan and India through direct auction access, and we handle shipment tracking, documentation, customs clearance, delivery, and after-sales warranty.

Information we collect
Information you give us
When you contact us or place an order, we may collect:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, WhatsApp number, and email address.
- Enquiry details — the vehicle you are interested in, your budget, preferences, and the content of messages you send us by phone, WhatsApp, email, or social media.
- Order and import information — details needed to import, clear, and register a vehicle on your behalf. Depending on the transaction this may include your National Identity Card (NIC) or passport number, address, and other identification required by Sri Lanka Customs and the Department of Motor Traffic.
- Payment and financing information — bank and Letter of Credit (LC) details where you arrange payment or financing for an import. We do not store full card numbers on the Website.
Information we collect automatically
When you browse the Website, our servers and third-party tools may automatically record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This helps us keep the Website secure and understand how it is used.
The import tax calculator
Our online import tax calculator runs entirely in your own web browser. The figures you enter are used only to display an estimate on your screen. They are not sent to us, not saved, and not stored anywhere. The estimate is for guidance only and is not a quotation.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiries and provide quotations and vehicle information;
- Process and manage your vehicle order, import, shipment, and delivery;
- Prepare customs, registration, and other documentation required to import your vehicle;
- Arrange payment, financing, insurance, and warranty related to your purchase;
- Provide after-sales support, including the warranty on your vehicle;
- Keep you updated about your order and, where you have agreed, about our stock and offers;
- Operate, secure, and improve our Website and services;
- Meet our legal, tax, customs, and regulatory obligations.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. To deliver our services, we may share it with:
- Auction houses, exporters, and agents in Japan and India, to source and purchase your vehicle;
- Shipping, freight, and logistics providers, to transport and track your vehicle;
- Sri Lanka Customs, the Department of Motor Traffic, and other government authorities, for clearance, registration, taxes, and duties;
- Banks and financial institutions, where you arrange a Letter of Credit, payment, or financing;
- Insurance and warranty providers, to arrange cover for your vehicle;
- Service providers who support our business, such as website hosting and IT providers;
- Authorities or third parties where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
Because vehicle imports involve overseas suppliers, some of your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Sri Lanka, including Japan and India. We share only what is necessary to complete your import.
Cookies and third-party services
Our Website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work fully if cookies are disabled.
We also use third-party services that may set their own cookies or receive limited information when you interact with them, including embedded Google Maps (to show our location) and links to our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok pages.
